Dexter's 9 months

So let's see what Dexter is up to these days. He is 20 pounds and tall. He just sprouted his 5th tooth yesterday (bottom right). He is wanting to walk so bad. He will walk behind anything that moves and he lets go of stuff all the time now and just stands there looking like a little white chimp :) Just the last 2 days he has wanted to take off while standing and fell face first. If only his feet would move for him! He has started growling really loud it is so funny! He also like to bang things. He is very much a mama's boy but he loves everyone in the family. He lights up every morning when he sees Violet and when Dalton gets home from school he smiles to get his attention.  He's FINALLY becoming interested in what were eating. I hope this leads to better eating for him. He sits in his high chair every time we have a meal and eats what were eating, but he just hasn't been too interested. He
still sleeps in my bed most of the night. Oh well...he obviously wont be a baby for ever. 9 months almost makes me cry. I'm amazed at the capacity to love kids. I love Lynn, and Dalton and Violet just as much now as when they were babies and I'm sure I always will. Even if the do get married, and backtalk, and smack me and tell me to shut up. Dexter will never do any of those things right?...he's too cute.

Paul's Birthday

Holy Crap! Paul turned 44!  We had his Mom over for dinner. BBQ ribs, cheese fries and mint chocolate chip ice cream. All Dalton's favorites. What a fun Dad he is. He says "don't worry, I'll do the same for Violet and Dexter too" Gotta love him.

I had a surprise sitter planned for Saturday so we got to go to dinner and a movie with no kids. Woo Hoo!

Build a Bear

I love this yearly birthday trip to build a bear and this year was the most fun yet. She knew the one she wanted as soon as we got there (i made sure she looked at them all though, secretly hoping she would pick a different one, she didn't)

Violet has this new face where she's nervous and trying not to smile. I love it. She wanted to push the pedal but she was NOT going to look at the girl employee while she did it.

  Trying not to smile again.
So glad Mom came to help with Dexter!

Her cheesers are great lately too. The girl knows how to smile. I can't wait till next year!

Eh, a little chalk never killed anyone

Parade

We had fun at the 24th of July parade with our friends. It wasn't too crowded, or too hot. Violet and Maia will always be buds but it's nice for her to have Kaylee who is the same age.

Corn on the cob

I haven't posted for a little while again. I totally missed Dexter's 8 months. I didn't take a picture that day but I am always taking pictures so I don't feel too bad. He is so sick right now. Poor baby. After my run this morning (took the kids to the shop for Dad & Dalton to watch) we stayed home all day. He has been on essential oils (on guard, breathe, lavender) every four hours and I have been diffusing them all day. He has watery eyes, stuffy nose, and is drooling like crazy. When the tylenol wears off he is miserable. I hope he gets better fast! I just noticed yesterday that he is letting go of the couch and standing for a few wobbly seconds at a time! He is a super fast crawler. He gets away quick. He always wants to get down and he always wants to see what Violet is doing. She is at what I hope is the worst of her jealousy. She does not want to share ANYTHING. And she is still on a kick of hurting Dexter. I have to watch her so close. But, like all phases this one has to end. Hopefully sooner than later. I think I have everyone pretty well ready for school. I ordered all of Dalton's clothes and shoes, got him registered for school and a spot on the bus (YAY!) and paid all his fees. Violet needed a few things put together for pre school(snacks, tp, emergency bag) and I have all that. We got her a new pair of shoes today. I have the urge to get her a bunch of new clothes and I have to keep reminding myself that it's only preschool, 2 days a week. She doesn't NEED a new wardrobe. I have my final schedule and I just need to get books. All of my classes will be online. 10 credits. I'm so excited for school. I'm really enjoying bettering myself with exercise and I look forward to learning some new stuff. Now, if only I could learn patience.
