I am struggling with Violet a lot lately. We have these great power struggles where I forget I'm the one who needs to keep it together. And I forget that it's not about winning with her. I try all kinds of tricks that I have learned or read about then, I just end up yelling or spanking. Or both. Mostly yelling. Then I tell her not to hit me and not to scream at me and I realize how I sound like a hypocrite. I don't want to do it anymore. She's starting to run away when I yell. Time to start acting as if. As if I am patient. As if I don't yell at my kids. As if I have mad parenting skills. As if I am the toddler whisperer. As if I remember what it's like to be almost three. As if I have all the time in the world, just for her. She deserves it. She's incredible. (she told me so tonight!) Look at her.....

My camera batteries died... so I don't have any new pics but...

I like this one because I can see that I have lost weight since then! Gotta get back on that.

Easter

Blurry pictures, great day with my family. Violet was funny finding eggs, her new thing to say is "oh my gosh" or " oh my heck". Dalton is always such a good helper with her and lets her experience things so well. We all went to church, came home had a quick nap then went over to Grandma Holdaway's. Violet sat at the table and ate with the big cousins for the first time. So cute. Dexter rolled over today. I was sitting right next to him and I missed it! One minute he is on his back and the next he is on his tummy.

 I let (made) Violet wash her tea party set the other day. It was getting pretty dirty, mostly because she colored on it with her crayons. As much as I wish my dirty dishes weren't in these pictures, I had to post them because I mean, how cute. And once she started she had a great time at the sink.

 Here's the little kids before church last weekend. I was just thinking they look like Spring/Easter outfits so they'll probably wear the same thing this Sunday for Easter. I just need to get Violet some new church shoes. I just love how Violet is interacting with Dexter now that he is getting older. Today Dex rolled over for the first time....front to back. He did it twice then he was sick of tummy time and his Dad felt bad for him. I feel bad too but I can listen to him struggle a little longer than Dad. He's so close to going from his back to tummy too. Any day.
